White House Market, a popular darknet marketplace, has stopped accepting bitcoin payments and will only accept monero.
White House Market was launched as a Monero only dark web marketplace. At the time of launch, White House Market was one of the few dark web marketplaces that only was only supporting payment using Monero. Customers complained and asked for Bitcoin support.
The darkweb market was forced to adopt Bitcoin support through Morphtoken’s API. While White House market added Bitcoin support, they reiterated that the market was designed to support only Monero and would switch to a Monero only system in the future.
The deep web market made a statement which people shared on Twitter, White House Market is no longer accepting bitcoin payments. Morphtoken, the third party exchange API the market used, ” suddenly decided to block access from Tor exit nodes.”
According to the market: “The Bitcoin workaround was supposed to be there just to help with transition to XMR and as we are concerned, it’s done, therefore we are now Monero only, just as planned.”
There are few Monero only dark net markets and the darknet market is now one.
