The Virtual Private Network (VPN), Safe-Inet used by the top hackers has been taken down in a coordinated law enforcement action involving Europol and the German Reutlingen Police Headquarters. Other law enforcement agencies were also involved.

Safe-Inet VPN was active for 11 years, Europol and the US department of Justice claim that Safe-inet VPAN is “used by some of the world’s biggest cybercriminals.”

Forums for black hat activities posted adverts for the Safe-Inet VPN service. These forums are hosted on the tor network and they advertised Safe-Inet as providing multiple layers of anonymity and stable connections.

The operators of the service provided 24/7 support and a 3 day money back guarantee. The operators were keen to highlight their no logs policy and they took anonymity seriously.

Anonymity was a key element for growing the business so the operator highlighted their no-logs policy on the website.

Authorities are currently trying to identify and take action against some of Safe-Inet VPN users.
