Italian authorities have arrested an Italian man on the suspicion of buying drugs on the dark web and reselling them.

Alberto Tandoi, 34, was arrested after the Carabinieri of Vigodarzere began investigations into him. The Carabinieri were made aware about some potential dark web drug trafficking activity. A “careful and detailed” investigation by the authorities led them to the discovery that the suspect had an international supplier of a variety of drugs, which included MDMA and methamphetamine. According to reports from the Italian news outlets. Italian investigators determined that the defendant received the drugs from his supplier located in the Netherlands.

Authorities executed a search warrant at the suspect’s house, during the search they found 200 MDMA tabs, 95 benzodiazepine pills of an undisclosed variety, cocaine, and nine grams of methamphetamine. Authorities also discovered packing material and evidence that the suspect purchased the drugs on the dark web.

At the moment there is an investigation ongoing into the suspected drug dealer’s supplier located in the Netherlands and his local and possible international customers. On January 8, 2021, he was taken into police custody.
