A 38 year old German man has been accused by the Dresden Public Prosecutor’s Office of operating a child exploitation forum for dark web users.

The Dresden Public Prosecutor’s Office charged the 38 year old man with 18 counts of the distribution of child pornography as well as the serious sexual abuse of children. The German Police says that he created the website and hosted it on an onion service. He created the forum in 2010 and kept it running until 2014, according to the BKA press release.

The aim of the forum was to create a global platform for the intensive and long-term exchange of child and youth pornographic content, inaccessible to investigators via the darknet.

In addition to the charges from the operation of the forum, the defendant faces charges for sexually abusing young children between April 2013 and April 2020. He allegedly distributed films of the assaults on various darkweb forums under a number of usernames.

According to the BKA, lasted for several years and required assistance from Europol.

The defendant made a complete confession after his arrest.

The public prosecutor’s office Dresden has brought 18 cases against a 38-year – old German charge at the District Court Dresden – Jugendkammer as a court for the protection of minors-among other things because of gang distribution of child pornography and serious sexual abuse of children.

The accused is charged with running his own child pornography Forum on the Darknet with other gang members from 2010 to the end of 2014. The aim of the forum was to create a global platform for the intensive and long – term exchange of child and youth pornographic content, which should be removed from investigators ‘ access via the Darknet.

Between April 2013 and April 2020, the accused continues to be charged with 18 counts of sexual activity in a village near Meissen and on the island of Usedom with two girls aged seven and eight years and two female babies from his circle of friends and acquaintances, filming them and then distributing them on various platforms on the Darknet.

The accused, who used various Nicknames on the Darknet, was identified after years of Investigation in April 2020 and subsequently arrested on 19 May 2020. The European police authority Europol was also involved in the extensive and very complex investigations of the Federal Criminal Police Office. This has in particular intensively supported the European-wide police exchange of information and contributed significantly to the identification of the accused. The arrest has succeeded in ending a previously unknown series of abuse that has been ongoing since February 2020 to the detriment of an 8-year-old girl.

The accused has fully admitted to the allegations.

The Dresden regional court will now decide on the opening of the main proceedings and the admission of the charges.

A date for the trial is determined by the Dresden regional court.

The accused remains in custody.
